5to9 Productions specialises in high-end nature, history, adventure and science programmes. The company is currently working with Australian producer Rock Wallaby on a raft of programmes for the Qatari government. These range from sophisticated short films on aspects of Qatari life to one-hour nature and adventure documentaries.
Mark Strickson (Executive Producer)
Starting with Granada Television in the UK, Mark then became Head of
Programmes at the world-renowned company Oxford Scientific Films (OSF).
During his tenure OSF won both an Emmy and two Wildscreen Golden
Pandas. Most recently he spent three years with Natural History New
Zealand before forming 5to9. Regular clients for Mark include National
Geographic, Discovery and Animal Planet with further projects being made
for the Travel Channel, WNET, ZDF and, in the United Kingdom, C4, C5,
ITV and the BBC.
Stephen Downes (Producer & Post-Production Supervisor)
Stephen started in television 20 years ago and has worked as a
producer, editor and cameraman on many award-winning international
productions. His work ranges from natural history to drama and he has
regularly worked for Discovery, National Geographic, Animal Planet and
NHK.
Lisa Garvin (Company Production Manager)
Lisa was Manager of Production for Natural History New Zealand for
many years, but prior to that also had experience with the BBC and
wildlife producer Partridge Films in the UK. She has worked for almost
20 years in television and brings a wealth of experience to both her
organisational and finance roles. Lisa has been responsible for sending
television crews to more than 60 countries and regular clients have
included Discovery, National Geographic, NHK and the BBC.
